Cher Ami
In 1919, there was a very brave messenger pigeon named Cher Ami, French for dear friend, who, in the war, delivered a message that saved many Americans from getting hit by their friends. Sadly, the German hit the pigeon with their guns many times and the pigeon died from its wounds.
